What do you think would work as good "I'm on a quest" type music?
So I made up this semi-board game for the students I tutor and it's a cross between a quest, a conquest, and a road trip; you get a map of the "world" and you're on a quest to gain knowledge about the subject until you eventually conquer the material, all the while taking a road trip, buying souvenirs, taking pictures, and being touristy. (I'm still working out the complete details, but that's the general idea)
The tutoring session will be divided up unequally between traditional learning time at the start and game time to end it off, and I thought it would be cool to have some sort of theme music to transition to game time. So, any suggestions? Think, "I'm a a poor, ragged traveler and I need some background music to add color to my journey on horseback." Or "I'm a conqueror and I need some music to add to my battle scenes in case they're ever made into a movie." Or something like that, whatever comes to mind. Thank you

Well, since this is in the Classical section: Retrato de Alfredo Gobbi sounds really epic and dramatic (I can imagine a slow-mo battle scene in my head when I hear it), though it's technically not very 'Classical' (20th century, tango nuevo). Please, please pick the quintet version, not the piano version cos' it sounds way more epic.
If you don't really care if it's classical or not but you want an instrumental, you could go for this sad one by Apocalyptica (Cello rock), Hope, or Path which has a really intense front portion that would be great for a battle. Ride by Bond is also really cool as it gives you a tiny adrenaline rush that sounds just like what the poor, ragged traveller would need. Lastly, although it would be humorous rather than epic, the Pirates of the Caribbean is a good choice, partly cos' its recognisable and would really lighten the mood (my own teachers at school used this when they had events).
If it's okay to have a non-instrumental, the chorus part of The Pretender by the Foo Fighters is a great option. For a more rugged feel, you can try 1 000 000 by Nine Inch Nails (the whole album, the slip, is free on their website:) If your students aren't too old for Spiderman, you could go for Hero by Chad Kroeger too cos' it has lone hero feel.
If you still can't find what you're looking for, you can try albums from Japanese anime as the instrumentals are usually pretty good. However, it'll be difficult to find them online. Some suggestions I can give you are Final Fantasy (everything, even the games), D. Gray-man, Ghost in the Shell: SAC Complex. It would be pretty funny if your students realised it was from anime though. Haha!
