How come Hayden Chrissten won a worst suppoorting actor in Stars Wars: Revenge of the sith?
Even though the film is good, why Hayden won that award? Is it for no reason or something like that
I believe alot of it was Star Wars bashing. Most people were impressed with the visuals of Episode 1 and 2, but were dissappointed in the story. In todays age, we are used to the quick payoff. Many people wanted Anakin to turn to the darkside in Episode 1 and were very, very dissapointed that Anakin was but a boy in this film. I am not trying to say that Episode 1 and 2 were on the same level as Episode 5, but I dont think people understood what Lucas was trying to achieve. He wanted to show the entire circumstances leading to the fall of the Republic and ultimately the fall of Anakin. Lucas wanted to show how someone like Anakin could turn to the darkside. It is a tragic story.
Hayden was actually not bad in Episode 3, his chemistry with Natalie Portman wasnt very strong, like the chemistry between Ford and Fischer. In addition, George Lucas is very good at a story, but sucks at dialogue. Finally, many people found Anakin to be a whiny little bitch in Episode 2 and didnt feel strongly for him.
Maybe, if Hayden hadnt been such a whiny guy in the movies, most people would have liked him more. When he turned to the Darkside, the character was much better and Hayden actually pulled that off.
