Need help with warhammer!!?
Ive already got a small army but i dont really like it do you think i should sell it or keep it as a spare army and which new army should i go for bretonia or wood elves??
OK, I'm already on-record on your other - almost identical - question as saying that you should stick with your Vampire Counts.
However, in the interests of full disclosure, let me approach the question on the assumption that you definitely don't want to keep doing the VCs and are looking for something else.
The first thing to do is to browse the available choices and see what grabs your interest, not based on the perceived strategic or tactical options but on the look and feel of the armies in question. You have to feel drawn by the imagery and style of the army, its background and origins. Buying, building and painting an army is a time-consuming activity and if you don't have your heart in it, you'll end up with a lot of "very small", half-finished armies languishing, unloved, upon your painting desk.
This process should then wittle your choices down to a short list of two or three. So the next question you have to ask is an economic one. The faster you can buy and assemble your army, the more you will enjoy it. So if you have limited funds, you may want to work out which one you can afford most easily within your budget. Generally, it must be said, armies cost about the same as long as the core units come in plastic - and for Warhammer, they all do (except Dogs of War) so there may not be much to choose between them. But have a look on eBay and other such sites, because you'll be amazed what can be bought and for what price.
The final thing to ask yourself is just how good a painter you are. Some armies are easy for beginners (VCs are a good example; so are Lizardmen) and some aren't (High Elves and Bretonnians come to mind). Get some advice from the local hobby centre staff and look at what you've already painted. Check out some of the Internet forums like Warseer, DakkaDakka and Warhammer Online for ideas and tutorials on painting different armies.
All of this should lead you to a decision that based on what's right for you, rather than on a subjective recommendation from someone else.
