The world seems to be full of imitations. There are faux furs for people who either can't afford the real thing or really don't want to wear something an animal had to die to provide. Yes, it is true. The companies who make Vinyl siding have developed a way to make that vinyl siding look like logs. While this may seem a little silly to some people it is actually quite inventive and the perfect solution for those people who want to live in a log cabin but, simply can't afford the price of those logs. And when you think about it who really wants to cut down all those beautiful hardwoods when you can get the same look without killing a tree? However, with that being said, vinyl log siding can be a very attractive choice and for those people who have their hearts set on living in a log style cabin but, can't afford real log siding this option may well make their dreams come true. Of course with your log siding being made out vinyl you also get quite a few benefits. First, your home will have a rustic look about it which is extremely appealing. Second, you won't have to worry about staining or sealing your siding, nor about protecting it from insects. Third, it won't splinter or rot making it far easier to maintain than real could ever be.
In addition, you can have any home, anywhere sided with vinyl log siding without having to worry about harsh temperatures and damp climates making maintenance a nightmare. In fact, washing this siding with a power washer will keep it looking fresh and new year after year.
So, while that log cabin may not actually be made out of logs, it can still give one the feel of living in a log cabin, while costing less to side and being easier to maintain. While vinyl log siding will never take the place of traditional log siding it does have it's own appeal and a nice log that is worth considering.
