While food may be the highlight of any picnic, it would also be a good idea to organize fun activities to take advantage of the festive atmosphere outdoors. So, if you're organizing a picnic, better have picnic games on your list.
Picnic games are fun especially if you have kids to join you in your outdoor acticity. While going to an amusement park is equally fun for them, nothing beats good ol' games that allow you to spend quality time with them. Not only that. It's definitely much cheaper to play picnic games than to pay for an amusement park's entrance fee.
With the advent of cable tv, computers and video games, a picnic with outdoor games is definitely something for a change and could go a long way as long as it is organized well. And by "organized well" we mean that we have to bear in mind what their interests are.
The picnic games and activities will vary, depending on what would be fun for the people at the picnic. Will you be catering just for kid, adults or both?
Kids with ages 3 to 8 will want to play more energetic activities that involve a little competition. A mini obstacle course is something that could perk them up. As adults though, we have to make sure that the activity is safe for them.
As for adults, they would most likely prefer something that entertains them more without having to stretch their legs too much. An eating contest would be good idea for them. This especially goes true for men.
While a picnic may involve a mix of adults and kids, it is also a good idea to come up with a game that would involve both of them. A sack race involving both an adult and a kid (preferably in their pre-teens) would be not only a fun activity but a bonding moment between the adult and the kid.
There are a lot of activities that can liven up your picnic party. A treasure hunt game, for example, can also be a fun activity both for the kids and adults.
For those who love the classic board games, you might also buy giant versions of the popular ones like s dominoes, chess, or snakes and ladders. Those will surely be a bog hit for the picnic.
If your picnic setting is on a large expanse on a grass just like in the park, you can also organize a game of croquet or lawn skittles and have everybody join in the activity.
If you have a group that's fond of music and a little dancing, you can also organize the classic limbo contest. I bet you this could a revelation for everyone since this game tests how flexible a contestant is.
While activities that involve a little stretching of the muscles sound fun, there are those that are happy to simply spend quality time with their loved ones by just talking and catching up.
