Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 problems?

I just recently bought this game. I tried running it on my computer but every time I try to start the game a box comes up saying:
"Bad Version: 5
This error has also been sent to Debug.log"
I have a Windows XP. I really want to play this game and is there anyway to fix this?

I was recently struggling with this problem too, but i figured out how to resolve it.

Go to Atari's Website at http://www.atari.com/support?p=104&g=1279&c=1283&i=

And try to see what your version is. Download either the retail patch or either of the other ones but NOT GOLD or WILD if you don't have either, those are for expansion packs.

After that, run the EXE. If it says 'Retail Version Not Found' You don't have the right patch, so go download one of the others. After you download and run the right patch, once it's done when you try to start it it might say: Please Insert Disc. Don't worry, if you have your disc in it will still come up. So you want to go to your start menu, click 'Run' and type in cmd then hit 'ok'
when command prompt pops up type

dla disable e: and where the e: is put the name of your disc drive that the disc is in. If that doesn't fix it then try contacting SecuROM at support@securom.com
