Does it matter which Silent Hill game I play first?
I played the first Silent Hiill b4 on PS and got fairly bored wandering around in fog and always finding dead ends. enough that i quit it. =
but i feel interested in Silent Hill 4 right now ...its different. but is this the best game to play in the series? or is 2,3 ? or just go back to the first one and go threw em all?
no. Silent Hill 4 is not the best in the series. not at all. it is a good game, but it should have been left as a stand alone game like it was originally intended to be.
most people will say 2 is the best, but for me it's a tie between 2 and Origins.
in order to understand the storyline as told by the movie, you need to play Silent Hill: Origins, then Silent Hill, then Silent Hill 3. that is the original storyline. 2 and 4 have nothing to do with these three games, and VERY LITTLE to do with each other. they are NOT about the same storyline. Silent Hill 2 takes place in Silent Hill but has nothing to do with Dahlia, Alessa/Cheryl/Heather, or any of the other characters in the main storyline. 2 has small tie ins to the other games, just as 4 has small tie ins to them. other than a few small tie ins (ex.: Walter Sullivan is mentioned in a newspaper clipping in 2 after having killed a set of twins. Walter is the main bad guy/boss in 4, and his murder victims become a monster in 4 as well), these games have NOTHING to do with each other or the other 3 games.
