wellington vs napoleon?
ok i've asked this before, and it seems that i left out some detail, so i'll ask again.
they both have 50'000 men napoleon has 30'000 regular infantry(of which 1000 are elite), 10'000 light infantry(skirmishers) and 10'000 cavalry. 5000 of which are heavy cav,3000 light cav and 1700 lancers

wellington has the same infantry as napoleon(but no elite infantry), 5000 heavy cav 1000 elite cav 3800 light cav and 20 cannons
it had rained the night before, but is clear and sunny the day of the battle. wellington is on a slight rise, with a town guarding is left. there are no supporting army's coming to aid either general.
who would win? this is a fictional battle, it never happened, though it may seem as one that has.
napoleon has marshal ney as a subordinate among others and wellington has major general picton as a subordinate among others(the other subordinates don't really matter)
. once again, this never happened, who would win if it did?
You are thinking in terms of static battle. Why would either general commit to a final decision here? Unless one side was stuck in place (say, guarding Paris), the near equivalence of forces means that whichever side loses momentum will break off.
You are trying to give the English an advantage to the cannon with the rise, but that only protects a static line of battle. Ney will wheel and redeploy forces, Napoleon will seek to concentrate fire on a narrower part of the line of battle. Unless one side is foolish, you'll never have a cavalry charge without a cavalry counter. Depending on morale, you'll get some nice slaughter, but no decisive winner.
