How to make perfect eyes on miniatures?
I'm a collector of miniatures. I have many models from Games Workshop, Dark Heaven , Warlord , War Machine and Hordes .
I notice one of the best way to succeed in making perfect eyes is to prime the figurines with a white spray can and to use a pigma micron pen to make a small dot.
If the dot is too big, just covering with a little bit of white paint can fix the mistake.
The problem I sometimes have is that Game Workshop Skull White paint is sometimes too thick. Dilute it with water, then it covers the whole eye with a watery.
So when you don't succeed, you try again.....
But I was curious to know if you guys had any tricks of the trade?
I usually prime black, and hit the eyes with a softer white, then clean up with the flesh tone. I also use foundation paints lately to make the colors pop a little more. I have a small brush I started doing eyes with, like a 20/0, but I have become a lot better at nailing the eyes with my #2 Winsor Newton.
One of the tricks I learned was to do one eye, and then flip the model 180 degrees (upside down) and do the other eye.
