If Games Workshop's Imperial Space Marines existed, how long would it take before they pacified Iraq?
Yes, I know it's a nerd question but I am at work and I am bored.
Ok for those who need further info.
One company of Ultramarines supported by four leman russ tanks and an executioner class tank . The Ultramarines also have two Librarains.
Maybe they got them enroute. Who knows? Anything can happen on the battlefield. Ok Fine, Lets go with the Blood Angels Death Company.
A couple of days. They'd use their psykers (librarians etc) to determine what the enemy was up to. Scouts and servo skulls would be sent out to find the enemy and disable their weapons. Gunships would patrol the skies while directing where individual marines should be sent to clean house.
The marines wouldn't need much more than frag grenades and bolters with some being issued with flamers.
The IEDs that are being used against the tanks are the hardest hitting thing the terrorists have and I'd think that the ceramite armour of the marines would take it and just knock the marines off their feet.
Space marines wouldn't be worried about collateral damage either and if they get too much bad press and protests against them, well there's always an orbital bombardment solution to that up to and including exterminatus - hopefully not and end of rant.
