Does a dwaran waraxe (Huge) in DnD exist?
Recently one of the PC's in my campiagn became a barbarian dwarf. And he picked a weapon called a Dwaran Waraxe Huge. He says its basically a giant war axe about his size probably a little bigger and its categorized as a huge item. He says its 2 handed and it does 3d8 points of damage. Do these weapons exist and what are there costs. He just joined into a campiagan of 2 level 2 characters with a total of 9k gp, so everyone got 3k each. Is this weapon more or less than 3k?
Yes, the weapon is created the right way and would be two-handed, but unless he has the Oversized Weapon feat (an epic level feat) he cannot use it. Since he is only level two, it is too big for his character to weild. It is well within his price range though. A normal dwarven waraxe costs 30 gold. Increasing the size one category doubles the price. So making a huge item out of a medium one would cover two size categories and cost 120 gold. The biggest he could have at such a low level is a large dwarven waraxe that deals 2d8 damage (still two-handed) and costs 60 gold. The only huge weapon that I could think of him being able to use is a mercurial greatsword (Arms and Equipment), and only because that has a special description that accompanies it, and it is an exotic weapon.
