How do I get started playing Dungeons and Dragons (Not online)?
I'm a current dungeons and dragons player, but I want to become a DM of my own group. Where should I start, where can I get all the materials like the graph sheets and miniatures and such.
I am a player just need help finding materials to create my own dungeon. I already have ideas for campaigns in my head, and possible players.
The next step is to buy and read the Player's Handbook, The Dungeon Master's Guide, and at least one Monster Manual (I would start with the first one since it has all of the basic creatures and animals). You can buy the books at a bookstore like Barnes and Nobles or Books a Million or some other major chain. The bookstore should also have the dice needed to play. Amazon.com will all of the stuff online. Be sure you all of the same edition, especially if purchasing online. The current version is 4th edition and it is carried in all of the stores. You can buy the miniatures at the store, or online. You have more freedom in this area since the stats are in the books. I buy my graph paper at Staples or Office Depot, but lots of stores carry it. Craft stores like Micheals even carries graph paper. There are lots of resources online both free and for pay. You can download character sheets and all kind of stuff from many different web sites. Yahoo groups can help out. Good luck and have fun.
