Unfortunately a non-Staunton or regular chess set is of little value unless carved from precious metals etc.
If the set was old it might have "collectors" value. If instead of the Simpsons it was, say, WWI generals then it might be worth something.
Unfortunately the series is still running and you don't even have the nostalgia effect let alone the collectable effect. (How can we miss the Simpsons when it hasn't left?)
My advice is to sit on it. Maybe your grandchildren can get good value for it.
