Warhammer book! where to start!?
So i just started playing Dawn of war. and i luv dat game now..one of my friends told me that it was based of a table top game dat was based of a book, so i decided to search for de books ..but there are soo many of them..can some one tell me where to start from..are they in chronolical order ,,thx for de help

Well, if you really enjoyed the computer game, Dawn of War, then you should probably start with the tie-in novel by CS Goto, "Dawn of War".
Whilst there are a lot of Black Library novels set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, they tend to come out only for a limited run before being replaced by something new. Many books published only a few years ago are now hard to come by. But if your taste is for all-action combat adventure - and if you like Dawn of War, then I'm guessing it is - then I would strongly recommend that you look up the Gaunt's Ghosts series by Dan Abnett.
This sequence began as a series of short stories before turning into full-length novels that have stayed in print from Black Library's first print-run. They may not be particularly literary (and Dan takes a certain number of liberties with common sense here and there) but you won't notice amidst the tense and exciting action and intrigue that surrounds the heroes.
To summarize:
Commissar Ibram Gaunt is sent to raise a new regiment of Imperial Guardsmen from the forest world of Tanith just before the world is annihilated by a surprise attack from the forces of Chaos. The charismatic officer must lead his orphaned warriors through a crusade of a thousand deadly battlefields and face fire from every side - including his own - before any of them can know peace once more...
The novels run in this order:
First & Only
Ghostmaker (which also revisits events before F&O)
Necropolis
Honour Guard
The Guns of Tanith
Straight Silver
Sabbat Martyr
Traitor General
His Last Command
The Armour of Contempt
Only in Death
However, these are also available in collected editions of three or four novels each. The collected editions are "The Founding", "The Saint" and "The Lost".
Most of the novels can be picked up second hand for next to nothing on eBay or Amazon Marketplace.
And, just to finished, I should add that, if you enjoy Dawn of War and the Gaunt's Ghosts novels, you should consider having a look at the game. It's very engaging and there's a new edition about to be published.
